Regeria Hope Episode 1 Full Walkthrough (Text only)

Regeria Hope is a visual novel app very similar to the Phoenix Wright (PW) series. You play as a rookie defense lawyer, Regeria Hope, and prevent your client from being judged as guilty. Gameplay is simple, just click accordingly to the clues and testimonies given.

It is basically a very raw version of PW, but I love the series so I definitely enjoyed the game! It's also a very good first version of an app - I honestly enjoyed the game primarily because of the sincerity of the app developer in making this game.

You can check out his kickstarter website and donate to him for more games here (not paid to do this!), and download the app here (I think it may not be available on iPhone yet).

Ok let's start.

-

You can choose to turn screen animations on or off, I turned if off hoping to save some battery.

Dead Drunk
You see a scene where the groom poured wine into the bride's glass, she drinks it, stands up to make a speech but collapses. Naturally everyone will think the groom is the murderer, and the game being a game, you will obviously defend the groom.

Love that the starting is a nervous lawyer talking to her mentor Pharrell (so much like PW!). Anyway, the name of our client is

  • Hmmm... Brock 'En Hart?

You then see crying Brock who is the groom, who looks and behaves like Larry Butz in the PW series. If I'm not wrong, Butz used to be accused of killing his lover too.

Pharrell will ask if you wish to have a tutorial. If yes, click on
  • Any help you can give me would be great.
If not, click
  • Yeah, I know what I'm doing.
I'd suggest to click that you know what you're doing (it's really very basic). Then you will shout "Have at you!", similar to "Objection!" in PW. Maybe it's the licensing that prevents the app developer from using "Objection!" as well.

You will see Brock's testimony. This is different from what is in PW so you may want to click
  • Even though I've worked on this overnight, more help can't hurt.
But I'd still suggest to click
  • I was up all night preparing this, I know what I'm doing.
You can remove the statements with the checkboxes, and swap words in the ones with the arrow.
  • Remove the 4th statement and click next

The paparazzi represented by Justine will approach you and kill your morale but all is good (just follow this walkthrough and you'll be fine!). Pharrell will pep talk you and morale is at its peak again!

You will meet the "best prosecutor", Artemis Narcissus (similar to Klaver Gavin in PW), who is a good-looking yet narcissistic character in the game (as you can see from her mirror). Apparently they know each other and the game begins.

The judge Richard Bust is one who cares about his sandwich more than anything. Really dislike all the lines with the sandwich references.. And the time limit is nothing to be worried about. It is actually very long and even if you were to think for a bit, it is unlikely that you will run out of time.

The first person on the stand is Hawk, the detective. He shows the video that you have seen at the start of the game, where the groom poured the wine for his bride. You now see an interrupt button at the top left side of the page. There is no penalty so you can use it as many times as you like (unless time is running out)!

Tell Pharrell
  • Got it. I'll show him.

The cross-examination (or testimony engage) starts.
Click next to
  • When Victoria Died, Brock would have inherited that fat stack.
  • Click on Case Files (top right corner of page)
  • Click on Victoria's Will (4th in the list)
  • Click Present at the top left corner of the page
You prove that Brock would not inherit Victoria's will, which makes a loophole in Hawk's statement.

After a whole lot of talking, Brock starts talking. Brock will speak what you have chosen just now at testimony prep. The judge gives you one minute more time.

Brock then breaks down when probed by Artemis and says he killed his wife. You will then need to prove him wrong.

The cross-examination (or testimony engage) for Brock starts.
Click next to
  • Then I poisoned the wine glass. I had it in my coat pocket, so I could easily put the poison in.
  • Click on Case Files (top right corner of page)
  • Click on Reception Video
  • Click Present at the top left corner of the page
You prove that Brock was not wearing his coat, so he could not take the poison out of his pocket.
  • Someone else must have put the poison in the wine.
The judge then asks you who the murderer is
  • Click on the box with the waiter's face to accuse him as the murderer (who else could it be?)
Artemis asks for a 30 min extension to the trial, and everyone goes for a break.

-

Pharrell commends your good effort. Brock is emotionally unsound. Hawk approaches you and tempts you to be corrupt. Click
  • Get out of here! I'm here to prove my client is innocent!
He then gives you check-in stub and crumpled photo, which will be useful pieces of evidence later.

Back to court.

-

Waiter, Hemming Changer, AKA murderer is here.

Pharrell checks if you know how to interrupt.
  • Sure thing, I know how to get a witness talking!
This is obviously a hint that there will be a lot of interrupting to do later.

Testimony engage for Hemming Changer:
Interrupt (top left corner of page)
  • The husband could have put it in there before I took the wine up.
He will then fluster and a new statement will be added.
Click next to
  • He must have come in with his jacket on around 8.30pm, put the poison in the wine, and left.
  • Click on Case Files (top right corner of page)
  • Click on Check-in Stub
  • Click Present at the top left corner of the page
There's no way he could have come in around 8.30pm because he left his coat at 6.00pm! Judge gives you one minute more time.

Testimony engage for Hemming Changer 2:
Click next and Interrupt (top left corner of page)
  • No one I know has even met this woman.
  • Click on Case Files (top right corner of page)
  • Click on Crumpled Photo
  • Click Present at the top left corner of the page
You realise that Changer has a "twin sister" from the crumpled photo. He agrees a bit too oddly (you know where this is going). A new statement is added into the testimony.
  • Ok fine. My twin sister, Jordan Deed, knows her,  but why does this affect the case?
  • Click on Case Files (top right corner of page)
  • Click on Victoria's Will (4th in the list)
  • Click Present at the top left corner of the page

Testimony engage for Hemming Changer 3 (last one!) - somehow you only have 5 minutes so better be quick:
Interrupt (top left corner of page) every statement. You will see Regeria losing faith. She will ask what are the last names of Hemming's grandparents. When Artemis interrupts you, interrupt back thrice (important: if not, the judge will sentence Brock as guilty and that's the end)!

Hawk will then interrupt the judge before he sentence Brock as guilty. He presents a key piece of evidence - testosterone pills. Three minutes is given for the last evidence to be used.

Click next till
  • I have always been MR. Hemming Changer
  • Click on Case Files (top right corner of page)
  • Click on Testosterone Pills
  • Click Present at the top left corner of the page
Hawk gives you a name change certificate to give the final blow!
Click next till
  • I have always been MR. Hemming Changer
  • Click on Case Files (top right corner of page)
  • Click on Name Change Cert.
  • Click Present at the top left corner of the page
It has now been proven that Mr Hemming Changer is otherwise Ms Jordan Deed - the recipient of Victoria's will, ex-wife of Victoria, as well as murderer of Victoria. Apparently her motive is to kill Victoria so that nobody could have her if Jordan could not..

Brock is hence sentenced Not Guilty!

Tell Brock you helped him
  • Because your death will not bring your wife peace
You can listen to what the app developer has to say to see his face and have a feel of his sincerity. If not, the end credits will roll.
